Abstract

DISCONCI, Renilza Carneiro; BOING, Maria Salete  and  EMILENE BERWIG, Solange. Access by many, permanence by some and success by few: People with disabilities at EPTNM. Rev. Educ. Espec. [online]. 2023, vol.36, e83652.  Epub Sep 27, 2024. ISSN 1984-686X.  https://doi.org/10.5902/1984686x83652.

The article approaches the public policies of affirmative actions aimed at the Access of people with disabilities (PcDs) to technical professional education of secondary level (EPTNM), with the objective of discussing the role of student assistance in the permanence and success with students who enter in EPTNM through the quota reservation law for PwDs in the federal institutes of Rio Grande do Sul. The methodology used was based on the deductive method, bibliographical and documental research, in comparison with the analysis of legislation pertinent to affirmative action policies. The results indicate that the universe of affirmative action policies, especially for PwDs, is a field of study still under construction and that the strengthening of policies aimed at the permanence and success of these subjects is an essential tool in this trajectory.

Keywords : Middle-level technical professional education; Affirmative actions; Disabled people.
