This paper has been written to discuss the understanding that two schoolteachers have about the concept of difference, and to analyze the implication of their understanding on teacher students relationship, and on the learning process of the students. According to our view, difference and learning are products of social interactions, and that the interactions, a priori, are not formative. To reach our point, we think that the actual understanding of the concept of difference, constructed by means of daily life, needs to be disentangled from this daily life vision, to make it easier for teachers to real understand those actions, that take place in social relationship and/or educational interaction. Our study shows that formative social interactions depend on those conditions which make them suitable to a more healthy process of difference and learning. We also think that discriminating conceptual categories usually produce conformism and passivity. On the other hand, conceptual categories that are respectful and claim form equal rights, leads to participation, involvement and flexibility. Finally, the later are more desirable for process of human grows development.
