This study reflects on the Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional (National Education Law) and the National Curricular Parameters - Transversal themes - Volume: Ethics; the feasibility of a bioethical education in Basic Education. The documentary analysis was based on the theoretical framework of Paulo Freire and his educational concepts. The dimension proposed in these documents is related to the theory of bioethical referential. Based on the studies carried out, it is concluded that a bioethical education is feasible in basic education, as there is a convergence between Bioethics, its references and its relationship with education, particularly Basic Education, as a contribution to training students as early as possible, through education for citizenship that is based on values like fairer relations, human dignity, autonomy, justice and quality of life, and built throughout the school process. The main difficulty of this proposal is putting it into practice, for which there must be a consensus between the National Education Law, the National Curricular Parameters, and the referential systems of bioethics, which after being discussed and aligned, converge to produce a model of bioethical education that is geared towards Basic Education, thereby meeting the requirements of the law and the suggested practices of the PCNs.
