This article is part of a survey carried out with indigenous university students who participated in an extension course in Advanced Computing and Social Networking offered by the Knowledge Network Program at a private university. The aim was to analyze the concepts of these students concerning the use of technology in the educational context, including social networks. It is a qualitative study based on analysis and interpretation of the discussions established by the indigenous university students on a blog interface that enabled participation, interaction, expression and discussion among group. The results of this survey indicate that the indigenous university students recognize the need to know, understand, and become familiar with the emerging technologies in our daily lives, including social networks, in order to use them appropriately and critically in personal, professional, social and educational settings, creating and recreating relationships and connections.
