This essay examines the dialogical character of literature, and its role in the reader’s development and citizenship, as well as its role as a catalyst of social and political change. The objects of analysis of this essay are the works of the Mexican writer Gloria Anzaldúa, and the Brazilian writer Eliane Potiguara; two authors who bring together aesthetics and political activism in their literature.
