The objective of this text is to discuss the training of professionals working in early childhood education public institutions in the city of Guarapuava-PR, with the assumption that the formation directly influences the teacher's role in the organization of the pedagogical work and educational processes developed with children. For research purposes were applied questionnaires to the professionals of the Municipal Child Education Centers that municipality and interviews with many of them. Data from the questionnaires provided important information about the professional training of teachers. The interviews addressed issues about working conditions, the pedagogical work organization, among others. Then, they were transcribed and analyzed through its contents, so that was obtained four thematic categories: a) data about the working conditions; b) continuing education offered by the sponsor; c) guidelines institutionally received for the organization of work and; d) Professional profile of early childhood education according to the conception of teachers. The results indicated that most working professionals held its distance training or is in the process of training courses in the distance, both mid-level and higher. There is a proposal in the municipality of continuing education. Also, stood out the poor working conditions spelled out by a number of difficulties that end up compromising the work with the children. These results confirm the urgency of public policies that include guidelines and education strategies in service and fundamentally shapes ticket that value these professionals, so that is decreased the contingent that abandons this service or you want to leave, as evidenced in obtained various reports.
