The understanding and use of teaching and learning strategies are essential to the educational process. Each discipline and class, there are different contexts that require teaching strategies to help the student understand the content. This research arose out of a need to investigate and analyze the diverse teaching and learning strategies used in undergraduate courses in History, Philosophy, and Pedagogy of a private university in the municipality of Bauru/SP, as well as the views of their professors and students. Through semistructured questionnaires applied to teachers and students, it was possible to demonstrate the importance of these strategies in the teaching and learning process, as well as the interpersonal relationships established. The teachers use a variety of teaching and learning strategies during their classes, and students liked them. Mastery of content, interaction between teacher and student, clear and objective explanation, linking theory and practice, and the use of didactic and technological resources are just some of the strategies cited by students and teachers that facilitate the teaching and learning process. The results showed that the strategies are important for understanding the content taught, as are the didactics and resources used by the teachers, which contribute significantly to a quality education.
