Abstract

NOGUEIRA, Maria da Graça Saraiva  and  CASALI, Caroline. ACCESS TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICIES ON WEBSITES OF BRAZILIAN FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES. Contrapontos [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.1, pp.79-96.  Epub May 20, 2022. ISSN 1984-7114.  https://doi.org/10.14210/contrapontos.v21n1.p79-96.

The purpose of this text is to discuss how the websites of Brazilian federal universities present affirmative action policies to the community in general, providing information on the entry and permanence of students in higher education. For this, an applied study was carried out, with a descriptive objective and Content Analysis procedure (BARDIN, 1977). The websites of 63 Brazilian federal universities were observed, between September 19 and 27, 2020, in order to measure, in each site, the number of clicks needed to access the affirmative action policies for students to enter and remain in higher education. The study shows that only one Brazilian federal university does not present public policies for the admission and permanence of students on its site. The other 62 institutions provide access to these policies in a maximum of three clicks, a standard considered adequate for transparency and access to information.

Keywords : affirmative actions; social inclusion; staying in higher education..
