Resumen

MANNES, Mariana. The researched child: an analysis of scientific articles in Psychology. Psic. da Ed. [online]. 2015, n.40, pp.15-26. ISSN 2175-3520.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-3520.20150002.

The aim of this research was to understand the place children occupy in scientific research in the area of psychology. The method adopted to achieve this goal was a systematic review of scientific literature retrieved from scientific databases. The journals indexed in Scientific Library Online (ScieLO) and classified by CAPES with A1 or A2 concepts in the area of psychology were selected. Among the 644 articles analysed, 347 (51.1%) use research methods in which children provides the information directly. However, in 42.31% of these articles the only instrument used in data collection were psychological tests. In 67.45% of articles, children are in relation with institutions, phenomenon or conditions: children in connection with school and alleged disorders (25.05% of total), children and health-disease relationships (10.65%) and children and disabilities (6.5%). It is considered that, although psychologists take information directly from children, they predominantly do it by testing them, which can also be a way to silence them.
