Migration is an intrinsic part of human life. However, the worsening of political, social and economic tensions worldwide has increased the mobility of people. From the premise that the subject is based on a language and is challenged by others, physical displacement leads to subjective displacements of different kinds. In this context, Argentina was the scene of historical migrations, such as the Italian migration at the beginning of the last century, and of contemporary migrations. In this last context, this article proposes a comparative analysis of the role of two civil organizations linked to groups of non-Spanish-speaking and Afro-descendant immigrants in Rosario: The Argentine-Brazilian Club and the Haitian Civil Association. A qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research was carried out with a theoretical methodological approach inscribed in the analysis of the Franco-Brazilian discourse. The construction of data was based on open interviews with leaders and on participant observations. The aim was to reconstruct part of their institutional trajectories as a historical record, in addition to analyzing the organizations’ strategies for disseminating and defending the linguistic-cultural diversity of the migrant groups involved. Both organizations differ in terms of origins, objectives and decisions regarding language teaching and local visibility. These differences allow us to systematize the multiplicity of aspects that catalyze the connections between migratory origins and the host community.
