Abstract

DINIZ, Irlla Karla dos Santos  and  DARIDO, Suraya Cristina. What to teach about dance in high school?. Rev. Motriviv. [online]. 2019, vol.31, n.58, e56603.  Epub Sep 11, 2019. ISSN 2175-8042.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-8042.2019e56603.

The purpose of this study was to outline alternatives for the teaching of dance in High School (HS) based on investigations of the State Curriculum Proposals (SCP) and of the National Common Base Curriculum (NCCB), as well as on analysis of narratives of teachers working with the dance subjects within the initial training in Physical Education. Therefore, we developed a qualitative research that used documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews as tools for data collection. As main results, we highlight that there are still doubts concerning the curriculum of dance in HS. However, the analysis suggested the prominence of popular, salon and urban dances, in addition to the relevance of more specific aspects such as historical-cultural elements, rhythm and creativity.
