Abstract

SOUZA, Hadamo Fernandes de  and  COSTA, Jonatas Maia da. Exclusion (normative) in Physical Education classes: facing indiscipline through the sport education teaching model. Rev. Motriviv. [online]. 2020, vol.32, n.63, e73650.  Epub Sep 01, 2020. ISSN 2175-8042.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-8042.2020.e73650.

The article addresses a pedagogical intervention with students who were punished with the exclusion of Physical Education classes for presenting bad behavior at school. We tried an experience with Sport Education model in the fight against indiscipline in a public school. The research aimed to identify and understand possible attitudinal changes in students considered undisciplined. The study had its methodological principles in action research and the focus group and questionnaire as instruments for data production. Sport Education carries the potential for critical appropriation of body culture. Collective work can be an alternative pedagogical strategy for improving student behavior if mediation takes place in step with the resurgence of affective relationships between teachers and students. Indiscipline remains a complex issue and challenges educators. However, it is essential to overcome the problem of normative exclusion from Physical Education classes due to indiscipline.
