RISTOW, Leonardo et al. The beginning of a community of practice: a case study with swimming teachers. Rev. Motriviv. [online]. 2021, vol.33, n.64, e80675.  Epub Aug 20, 2021. ISSN 2175-8042.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-8042.2021.e80675.

Communities of practice are collaborative learning environments used in Physical Education professional development. Thus, the aim of this study was to describe the meetings of swimming teachers with the intention of forming a community of practice. To this end, a qualitative, descriptive, and case study research was carried out. Two swimming teachers and a facilitator participated in the study. As instruments of data sources, were used: reflective writing, meetings recording, focus group interview, and audio and text messages in WhatsApp group. The qualitative data analysis was through the technique of content analysis. The results show that the way in which the interactions between the members occurred, the definition of challenges and the construction of strategies characterize this group of teachers as a community of practice at an early stage.
