Abstract

CARNEIRO, Elaine de Brito  and  MEIRELLES, Rosane Moreira Silva de. The view of students graduating from Physical Education courses at federal public universities in the state of Rio de Janeiro on the role of scientific initiation programs in professional training. Rev. Motriviv. [online]. 2021, vol.33, n.64, e81970.  Epub Oct 25, 2021. ISSN 2175-8042.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-8042.2021.e81970.

Scientific Initiation (CI) has occurred in Brazilian universities since 1950 and, in Brazilian Physical Education, studies on CI programs date back to 1999. This research aimed to investigate the role of CI in professional training in Physical Education at Federal Public Universities of the State of Rio de Janeiro. In the methodology, we used the inductive method with exploratory bias, where the instruments for data collection was the semi-structured interview. The theoretical framework was based on the ideas of Diniz-Pereira e, Latour and Woolgar. The sample consisted of students and alumni from the CI programs of the Physical Education courses at UFRJ, UFRRJ and UFF. The results showed that the CI programs have been favoring students to obtain a more comprehensive training with a deeper understanding of the contents of the area; better academic performance, in addition to making it possible to enter the Stricto sensu graduate programs right after the end of the course.
