Abstract

This text aims to analyze the scientific practices of research groups dedicated to the academic-scientific subfield of Physical Education in Schools. It focuses on groups working in the Southern region of Brazil. As the methodological design, the authors have chosen qualitative research and prosopography as methodological procedures linking semi-structured interviews to the analysis of documents for obtaining information. It was possible to understand that the scientific practices of the groups are politically and epistemologically oriented and indicate not only the agents’practices but also the interests and intentions that guide their actions and dispositions in the social space. Because a result, their research agendas, methodological paths, problematizations, and scientific productions conect closely linked to their political and epistemological basis, and, therefore, conceptions of the world, of education and school Physical Education.
