This article is the result of a descriptive research, which sought an approach of transversal nature to the context of the formation and career of women's futsal excellence in Brazil. All eleven athletes belonging to the Brazilian national team at the time of the dispute of the FIFA Women's Futsal World Championship 2011, held in Fortaleza (CE), answered a questionnaire, composed of closed questions, self-administered. The data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and were analyzed in light of the academic literature about the formation, career and development of athletes in the sport. We found that there is a decrease in the culture of playing in the street - once a privileged space and it is noted that the university is another investing of players during yours sports career. This favors reconversion at the end of the athletic career.
