Abstract

BUNGENSTAB, Gabriel Carvalho; GARCIA, Silas Alberto  and  LAZZAROTTI FILHO, Ari. Classical sociology and Brazilian Physical Education: the place of Émile Durkheims. Rev. Motriviv. [online]. 2021, vol.33, n.64, e82962.  Epub Sep 10, 2021. ISSN 2175-8042.  https://doi.org/10.5007/2175-8042.2021.e82962.

The objective of this article was to map how the sociological work of Émile Durkheim has been activated in the scientific production of Brazilian Physical Education. For that, what we were happy to do, based on the systematic review of literature in three scientific journals in the area, was to analyze the uses of its main concepts. From this, we can conclude that: 1) Durkheim is, quantitatively, little used in the scientific production of Brazilian Physical Education; 2) Although little triggered, there seems to be theoretical paths through which discussions between EF and Durkheim can take place.

Keywords : Émile Durkheim; Physical education; Scientific production; Epistemology.
