The purpose of this article was to describe and analyze the development and production process of the Study and Research Group on Public Policies and Leisure (GEP3L) of the FEF/Unicamp/Brazil. To this end, we analyzed dissertations, theses and articles acquired by GEP3L members, between the years 2004 and may/2021, which indicated a theoretical plurality and methodological interdisciplinarity in the set of research, as well as focus on public leisure and sport policies in the national, states and municipalities context. In its time of existence, GEP3L articulated theoretical productions and extension actions, and trained masters and doctors who work in different institutions and levels of education, in the management and private sector of different regions of the country. More recently, the group has managed to consolidate international collaborations that enrich scientific work on public policies on leisure and sport.
