This study is part of a major project of the educational policy and it proposes the discussion of the modalities chosen by school managers in the country, and specially, it presents the ongoing research about the Internal Selective Process for School Principal (Prosed), performed by the Municipal Secretary of Education (Semed) in Manaus. One tries to locate some elements to analyze and re-discuss the ongoing educational policies by emphasizing, above all, the relation between the ways of choosing managers and the democratization of school management.
