This article discusses the research’s role as a transverse theme in the curriculum of Pedagogy of a private University located in São Paulo. Curricular practises on research should be promoted in the undergraduate courses as an attempt to encourage students to apply scientific approaches in their investigation and to the disseminate their research outcomes, mostly because this is one of the main characteristics of an investigative teacher concerned to daily school life issues and deadlocks. The preliminary investigation results on the undergraduate research process, that started in 2007, points out that the students’ broad range of themes of interest enables us to raise some issues in order to discuss the meaning and the importance of the research in the teachers training courses.
