The objective of the article is to analyze the performance of the Professional Development Program of the University of Vale do Itajaí (Univali), its guiding principles and objectives, themes of study and levels of teacher’s participation, during the year of 2007. It also reflects on the commitments that the continuity and consolidation of the program can establish between the institution and its teaching body, as well as the benefits it brings to both.
