During the traineeship, the future teacher has the opportunity to integrate the practical experience and the knowledge acquired during the teacher education course. In the second half of 2008, the students of the faculty of Biological Sciences at Alfenas Federal University had a traineeship organized according to the reflexive model of teacher formation, taking into account the impact of their previous knowledge. The trainees were organized in teams in order to develop the Conscientizar para a Vida project, together with one public school teaching staff. In the first stage, the trainees taught theoretical classes and organized teams of students to do practical activities related to the theme water. In the second stage, with the help of the teachers, the trainees led the students to perform practical classroom activities. In the third stage, the trainees attended pedagogical supervisor meetings with the teachers involved. The mandatory traineeship must enable the future teacher to get involved in the school routine in order to link theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
