The educational imaginary owes the romantic conception of education that privileges the development of the interiority of the subject (what Jung names the self) through an initiatic trip over shape, for example, the “romance building”. Thus, the necessity to study from a proper hermeneutic perspective what constitutes the substance of the educational imaginary (allegories, metaphors, symbols, ideologems and myths), even if it appears in a general degraded way as an “ideologem”. Moreover, despite the fact that the educational imaginary presents a variably acute symptom of deprivation in a figurative way, one cannot abandon the educational purpose to an atrophic imaginary, as well as one cannot let the overexcitement of “un-educated” images reduce the critical and educational rationale.
