This work discusses the appropriation of autobiographies to formation on the Research/ Formation Movement domain. First, we introduce the argument that this process tends to approximate the research and the formation process by means of autobiographical approaches, taking for granted that the experience of telling your story to yourself may lead to a partial affirmation process that may be considered formative. Later, we discuss the problems of appropriation that relate to the approximation between autobiographies and formation, such as: the appropriation of a specific kind of memory, called here affirmative memory; the lack of a reflection about the sincerity in reports taking the researcher/ researched relation as a writer/ reader relation; the experience value upgraded as a narrative source and possibility; as well as issues related to the fact that authors present the existential-formative experience of this approach as a foucaldian “aesthetics of existence”.
