The present article presents the methodology to reduce the number of variables, the description of each construct as well as the measures that were produced during the Exploratorial Factor Analysis (EFA). There was used longitudinal data produced by Geres Project 2005, which followed a sample of students during the first years of elementary school in five cities in Brazil. The acceptable validity and trustability indexs of the resultant factors of the different context questionnaires enabled their use in other researches. Moreover, the work offers methodological subsidies to future panel longitudinal studies and attests that despite the fact that statistical resources transmit an idea of precision, they are, in fact, resources to guide the researchers decisions not only concerning the level of tolerance to be used but also the conceptual decision applied to the constructs definition.
