The present article discusses relation of the youngster who entered the university through the “University for All Program” (ProUni) in the appropriation in the use of the information and communication technologies, based on a research conducted with young people who have completed high school, listening to them at the moment they entered the university, concerning the use and representations they make of internet, having as a counterpoint the representations of the book, the TV, and the computer. The methodological steps are described and the results are analyzed. The research shows that the population of young subjects who were admitted through the ProUni program in private colleges where the research was conducted, follow the technological advances in a different way than indicated by common sense.
