Taking as reference twenty-two articles dealing with the issue of educational assessment, published in the Revista Brasileira de Estudos Pedagógicos (Rbep) in the period of 1998 to 2010, this paper highlights features of these productions released by Rbep. It also identifies outbreaks privileged by the authors in dealing with the topic. This paper emphasizes the diversity of approaches that was the subject of those articles. However, it also finds the recurrence of those addressing evaluation initiatives from federal government, directed to basic education or to higher education, with part of this production being written by professionals that, at the time of their publication, held positions in the Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira - Inep’s organizational structure or acted as advisors in that institution. By highlighting contributions offered by the journal for educational evaluation studies, the article alerts to the opportunity to Rbep to induce regular dissemination of articles covering different analytical frameworks.
