Abstract

CRUZ, Giseli Barreto da. Didactics and teaching in higher education. R. Bras. Est. Pedag. [online]. 2017, vol.98, n.250, pp.672-689. ISSN 2176-6681.  https://doi.org/10.24109/2176-6681.rbep.98i250.2931.

This paper discusses the relation between didactics and teaching in higher education, considering three analytical approaches: conceptual, contextual and investigative. On the conceptual perspective, it drafts epistemological angles that structure didactics and its place in the professional knowledge base for teaching; on the contextual perspective, it outlines the production scenario on higher education teaching in Brazil; and on the investigative perspective, it presents results of two researches on the training in didatics for future teachers, one from the higher education professors' point of view and the other from the point of view of students in the university teacher-training courses. The analysis promotes a dialogue among reference authors in the professional knowledge base for teaching, aiming to sustain the key idea that the mastery of didactics is potent to constitute a synthesis expression of the educator’s specialized knowledge, in order to teach at any level, including higher education.

Keywords : didactics; teaching; higher education.
