Abstract

CARNIEL, Fagner  and  RAPCHAN, Eliane Sebeika. Uses (with no abuses) of the ethnographic text in the classroom. R. Bras. Est. Pedag. [online]. 2018, vol.99, n.253, pp.687-699. ISSN 2176-6681.  https://doi.org/10.24109/2176-6681.rbep.99i252.3758.

What place does ethnographic narratives occupy in basic-education classrooms? To what extent does this specialized writing can be used as a pedagogical tool to improve teaching? To dialogue around these inquiries, this article proposes three ways to understand ethnographic texts as a pedagogical practice intended for non-anthropologists: the exemplary, the conceptual and the ethnographic exercise. Thus, it is a case of a theoretical and methodological proposition that seeks to expand the circulation of anthropological perspectives and of the ways knowledge is developed in anthropology.

Keywords : teaching anthropology; basic education; ethnography; teaching methodology.
