MATOS, Jainer Diogo Vieira; NOLL, Matias; FELICIO, Cinthia Maria  and  FERREIRA, Júlio César. Critical-reflective educational practice in environmental management and social responsibility: an experience report. R. Bras. Est. Pedag. [online]. 2021, vol.102, n.261, pp.564-582. This experience report aims to describe the application of an educational practice based on Active Learning Methodologies (ALM) and the use of concept maps, created from Ausubel's theory of Meaningful Learning. ALM raise students to a leadership role in the teaching-learning process, in which he is led to think, criticize, project, teach, solve problems, and complete goals. The practice was carried together with the discipline of Environmental Management and Social Responsibility linked to the curriculum of the professional course in Mining-Chemical Processes, offered by the Instituto Tecnológico do Estado de Goiás (Itego) Aguinaldo de Campos Netto. The main objective was to develop in students a critical-reflexive perspective on the impacts of mining activities in the municipality of Catalão - GO and to measure whether there was significant learning development. The methodology is of a qualitative approach and applied nature; as for the objectives, it is considered a descriptive research in the case study format. The main activity of the practice was the preparation and presentation of a seminar, in addition to the development of conceptual maps about the content explored. Analyzing the results and the conceptual maps produced by the students, evidence was found that the educational practice led to significant learning for students, reinforcing the potential of using the ALM in professional courses.
