This article aims to reflect upon the importance of school planing, showing concepts, different forms of planing and the need of the participative planing for the school. To accomplish that, we searched the theoretical background in books of great authors, such as Vasconcelos, Gandin, Padilha, among athers, who are really important in the educational research. The text approaches, at first, school planing and how it is used nowadays, aiming to present the importance of the educator manager. Then, planing concepts under the view of different authors are presented, and its existencial forms in the school environment; not leaving aside a brief historical view about the origins of planing. Next, there is an approach regarding planing and citizenship, explicitating the importance of associating school and society, working from the students’ reality and accomplishing improvements in their lives inside the school, family and society. As a final reflection of this theoretical production is the need to plan in the school environment for a better organization and structure of the educators, thus developing an equal and fair education for all, forming fair and honest citizens.
