Philosophical, literary, mythical, scientific, compulsory, religious, missionary, migration, tourism, teaching. This way the trips are characterized. A practice with different meanings.On one hand, the trips are varied and multiple, in equal measure are the studies that purport to reflect on this issue, addressed in different areas of knowledge, highlighting the breadth and interdisciplinary nature. These works propose to investigate the traveler may use various sources, such as letters, cards, boarding passes, journals, notes, trip reports. To list some uses of written travel within the History of Education is the horizon of this article. Using as methodological procedure the mapping the studies produced in the historiography of education in recent years, in order to weave a reflection on the different senses of travel.
