This article discusses the problematic of the concentration of Post-graduation (PG) on the coastline of the State of Santa Catarina. We started from the hypothesis that public policies formulated by Capes are appropriate to large centers of excellence, in prejudice for institutions located in the interior regions of the country. The study contrasts data provided by Capes with the reality of the universities located in the middle west region of Santa Catarina. To contribute to the analysis, was organized a research instrument in order to hear what teachers and leaders think and propose of these universities. This dynamic allowed getting up the proposition of new policies for PG that once adopted by Capes, may minimize the problem of the concentration of PG.
