Abstract

This article’s main objective was to analyze the production of dissertations and theses regarding the High School’s National Exam - Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM), in order to discuss trends and approaches on this subject in the academic field, using as a base papers that are reference on bibliographic balances, such as, for example, the work of Barreto e Pinto (2001). The choice of subject is justified by the centrality that this evaluation has assumed in the formulation and implementation of public policies related to education. From the  analysis of the studies found, it was possible to detect a certain lack of studies that discuss the ENEM as an educational policy per se. Such an approach can lead to a disregard of some political aspects constituting the ENEM such as the introduction of market logic in education and notions of efficiency and quality.
