Abstract

FIORESE, Jéssica Zauza  and  DELIZOICOV, Nadir Castilho. Biology textbooks and the History of Science. Roteiro. UNOESC [online]. 2015, vol.40, n.1, pp.101-125. ISSN 2177-6059.  https://doi.org/10.2177‐6059-v40n1201501060005.

This paper presents the results of a study of Biology textbooks and the History of Science (HS). The theme was chosen because of the importance of textbooks for teachers and students in the teaching and learning process, and because official documents call for a historically contextualized education, given that this perspective contributes to a more suitable understanding of the production of scientific knowledge. The object of the study was a collection composed of three Biology textbooks. The data collection involved the use of a form prepared for this purpose. The results of the analysis showed that in the books analyzed a historically contextualized view has only a timid insertion in the approach to the content presented.
