Abstract: The questions involving the evaluation and the quality continue in the centrality of Brazilian educational policies, and they are also object of many scientific papers. This text discusses the interlocutions of the evaluation and the quality in the context of Basic Education (BE), demarcating the different routes between the stages which compose this level of teaching. The academic productions and the Brazilian legislation are considered to be contribution, as well as the articulations between the themes in the perspective of their relevance to the contemporary educative policies. Therefore, it is worth pointing out the necessity of a positioning of the different social actors about the processes of evaluation of quality, which need to be articulated to the purposes of education.
