Abstract

In this article, the purpose was to analyze the diversity and nature of the actions and strategies planned and implemented in 18 public schools of Elementary School, located in the Western region of Santa Catarina, members of the sample of the Education Monitoring Program, with financial support from the Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination (Obeduc / Capes). The empirical basis of this article is a qualitative research approach, without despise the quantifiable data. The production of empirical material happened through a mixed questionnaire applied to the secretaries of education and managers of the surveyed schools. The analysis of the responses to the questionnaire was preceded by data tabulation relating to closed questions and the definition of derived categories of open questions. It was observed actions and strategies with potential to contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning processes and, therefore, with reflex in the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB).
