OLIVEIRA, Breynner Ricardo; SOUZA, Waleska Medeiros de  e  PERUCCI, Leidelaine Sérgio. Teacher training policy in the last decades in Brazil: advances, challenges, possibilities and setbacks. Roteiro. UNOESC [online]. 2018, vol.43, n.esp, pp.47-76. ISSN 2177-6059.  https://doi.org/10.18593/r.v43iesp.16491.

This article describes and analyzes the main teacher training policies since the 1990s, focusing on the Governments of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, Dilma Rousseff and Michel Temer. The analysis carried out reveals that initial and continuing teacher training actions are strongly linked to the government agenda and have been systematically constrained by political-electoral cycles. In describing and analyzing the policies and programs designed in these Governments it is clear that the alternation of the agenda is marked by the budget issue, especially in the Dilma and Temer Governments. The consequence is the dismantling of the training network that was created at the local and regional level, anchored by the universities, responsible for articulation with Brazilian states and municipalities.
