This article is the result of a study underway in the realm of the Observatory of Curricular Policies of Santa Catarina (OPCSC), linked to the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The purpose is to analyze aspects related to the process and the scope of the collective exercise of research-education based on the trajectory of the Observatory. Using a qualitative approach, it was guided by participant observation at encounters of the researchers and on the analysis of documents and texts produced in the realm of the collective study. As a group, the evidences in terms of results, demonstrate the successful exercise of the research-education and the power of collective investigation involving the objects of interest of the observatory the field of curriculum studies.
