This paper aims to analyze the narratives of the young students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) program from a public night school in the sertão of Alagoas, considering how the possibilities of students' permanence in the school are built. This article also is part of a methodological approach qualitative research that had as data semi-structured interviews, based on the studies of youths and school permanence in the school, intertwined in the field of EJA. The dream was highlighted as the most important factor, and its chasing was done by an individual effort. In parallel with rejected discourses that try to make the subjects accept their places, such dreamers get more and more persistence in the search for a future different from the present reality.
