Abstract

WALTER, Bruno Eduardo Procopiuk. The capturing of time and the constitution of the researcher as a subject. Educação. UNISINOS [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.2, pp.245-253. ISSN 2177-6210.  https://doi.org/10.4013/edu.2016.202.10.

This study aimed to understand the constitution of the researcher as a subject on the basis of the appropriation and use of their time. For this purpose, based on Foucault's theoretical framework, documents were consulted and 30 interviews with professors and researchers linked to graduate programs at the State University of Maringá were interviewed. It was perceived that, throughout their existence, the researcher has their time captured by the school-university. The school-university not only captures their time, but also requires them to occupy it in an increasingly intense and productive manner. As a result, the time they have for themselves, the time managed by themselves tends to be reduced. Finally, it should be noted that the form of researcher produced today is not the only possible option. At present, it is important to reflect and create other forms of being a researcher than those imposed by the existing dispositifs that give them a fixed identity.

Keywords : Capturing of Time; Constitution of the Subject; Researcher as a Subject; Care of the Self.
