In 2015 the institutionalization of postgraduate courses in Brazil reaches its fifty years of existence. This article aims at tracing a reflective mapping on professor's intellectual production in postgraduate education in the north of Brazil throughout the years of 2010-2014. The data survey conducted in February 2015 met five steps: (i) listing of the staff from accessing the websites of the programs examined by UEPA, UNIR, UFPA and UFAM; (ii) listing of articles, books and chapters in the CNPq Lattes Platform; (iii) quantitative and qualitative deepening of production regarding keywords; (iv) assembly, integration and correlation between programs' research lines by considering such inflection emphasis through the keywords; (v) correlation between the data collected in the Lattes platform and the web pages with CAPES reports. Guided by content analysis (Bardin, 2000) and quantitative research (Gatti, 2004), we held data systematization and analysis. The intellectual production reveals a certain regularity in the volume and diversity of themes in most programs. Despite the limits, achievements and challenges, the period examined revealed that the faculty in the region have made efforts to increase the social, scientific, technological and educational with a view to development and reducing regional inequalities.
