Abstract

DAL’IGNA, Maria Cláudia  and  SIERRA, Jamil Cabral. Partnership and governmentality: Tools to problematize contemporary social-economic relations. Educação. UNISINOS [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.3, pp.332-340.  Epub May 16, 2019. ISSN 2177-6210.  https://doi.org/10.4013/edu.2018.223.12.

This paper both describes and analyzes contemporary social-economic relations by using as its tools the concept of governmentality, as proposed by Michel Foucault, and the concept of partnership, as conceived by Dal’Igna (2011) and Sierra (2013). In order to support this analysis, we present part of the results of two pieces of research carried out in the field of Education considering partnership relations: one between family and school, and the other between State and social movements. The results have shown that such partnerships have become fundamental to maximize the government of subjects at a minimum cost in political and economic terms. What matters is to invest in partnerships, making everyone - mothers of children with low school performance, or people of sexual diversity, for instance - take on responsibilities and conduct their actions to advance social changes.

Keywords : partnership; governmentality; education.
