Abstract

PEREIRA, Talita Vidal  and  OLIVEIRA, Renata Leite. Inclusion discourses and the blocking of differences. Educação. UNISINOS [online]. 2019, vol.23, n.2, pp.338-351.  Epub Apr 30, 2020. ISSN 2177-6210.  https://doi.org/10.4013/edu.2019.232.09.

The article aims to reflect on ways to cultural differences articulated in discourse by students of Pedagogy of a University located in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro State. The aforementioned research was performed through the appropriation of post-structural and postcolonial contributions, as well as used the focal group interview as research technique. The concept of ‘difference’, in the participant’s speeches was generally associated with special and inclusive education, which means the physical or mental condition of subjects who demand special care. Thus, the aforementioned concept can be herein understood as the articulator of different essentialist meanings that have implications in the inclusion practices observed in the school environment. It is important highlighting that these inclusion practices, as a rule, remain limited to the integration perspective of people with special educational needs.

Keywords : Differences; Special and Inclusive Education; Discourse Theory; Culture.
