Abstract: This article provides a mapping on the scientific production and the internationalization of research in Postgraduate Studies, about Field Education in the Northeast Region of Brazil, whose time frame was from 2013 to 2019. The methodology used was the State of the Art, from the database of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations - BDTD and the website of Higher Education Institutions (IES) in the Northeast Region, in order to identify the number of existing works in the collection on Field Education. We also present data on internationalization based on international events and research groups dealing with the theme mentioned in the context studied. The data showed an increase in research on field education in the region, mainly due to the increase in the number of courses, programs and research groups from 2013 to 2019. We note the lack of investments in field education through Brazilian development agencies for the Northeast Region in international research projects, which contributes to hinder the internationalization and the social insertion of researchers of Field Education in the areas of Postgraduation in Education in other countries, although this has occurred although in an incipient way, mainly due to the militancy of researchers who are linked to social movements.
