Abstract

MOURA, Edite Marques de. REFLECTIONS ON THE ACT OS READING OR ARCHEOLOGY OF THE ACT OF READING IN PAULO FREIRE. Práx. Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.47, pp.180-191.  Epub Feb 18, 2022. ISSN 2178-2679.  https://doi.org/10.22481/praxisedu.v17i47.9427.

This study takes as its starting point Paulo Freire's best-known statement: "The reading of the world precedes the reading of the word, hence the subsequent reading of the word cannot do without the continuity of the reading of that one. "In this assertion, what Freire does, as he himself says, is to try to explain the “archaeology of the act of reading”. Following this path drawn more specifically in the book “The importance of the act of reading”, we seek to understand the theoretical foundations underlying this assertion and what happens when this relationship between reading and reality is not considered in practice.
