Abstract

MACHADO, Maria Cristina Gomes  and  HUSS, Silvana Rodrigues Malheiro. THE PROCESS OF PRIMARY SCHOOLING IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MANDAGUARI-PR (1940 -1980). Práx. Educ. [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.49, e11150.  Epub July 04, 2023. ISSN 2178-2679.  https://doi.org/10.22481/praxisedu.v18i49.11150.

Primary schooling is the subject of this article, which aims to reconstruct the history of the processes of institutionalization and expansion of primary schools in urban areas and rural areas of the municipality of Mandaguari-PR, taking the 1940s and 1980. The article is part of the research line history and historiography of education being organized from documentary and iconographic sources characterized by laws and ordinance that authorized the functioning of school institutions. The article asks about the process of institutionalization and expansion of primary schools in the city of Mandaguari-PR. Urban education can be dimensioned in two periods: from the Isolated Lovat school (1937) to the Mandaguari School Group (1946), from the creation of the State Gymnasium of Mandaguari to the School Complex Professora Hilda de Oliveira (1973 to 1988). Rural education (1950 to 1980) embraced about 38 isolated schools, located in the rural area of the city and which were normally built-in wood, had precarious structures, few resources and only one teacher responsible for the school. The reconstitution of primary schooling, in urban and rural areas, allowed the understanding of the process of colonization of northern Paraná and its relationship with the history of the city of Mandaguari, revealing the movement of the history of men and education in that historical period.
