The “Study of Experiences” was designed for the development of the research “A MÚSICA DO COMEÇO DO MUNDO”: caminhos e práticas educativas experivivenciadas pelos pifeiros de São José de Piranhas - Paraíba, carried out in the Postgraduate Course in Education, at the Universidade Federal de Sergipe - Brazil. This way of researching emerged from the confluence among the concept of writing, the idea of experience, the proposal to corazonar the scientific work and the sentipensante reasearch, thought, respectively, by Coceição Evaristo, Jorge Larrosa, Guerrero Arias and Fals Borda, allowing that reason and sensitivity walk together during a work committed to life, to popular culture, to education and to brazilianness. Previous experiences, observation in the researched field, informal conversations, interviews, narratives, field diary, reading of images and any other kind of writings, were some of the data collection strategies which revealed knowledge and educational practices in the cultural context in question.
