MEDEIRO, Tanise Baptista de  e  MENEZES, Magali Mendes de. THE THINKING OF JOSÉ CARLOS MARIÁTEGUI (1895-1930) AND INDIGENOUS STRUGGLES IN CONTEMPORARY BRAZIL. Práx. Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.50, e12048.  Epub 04-Jul-2024. ISSN 2178-2679.  https://doi.org/10.22481/praxisedu.v19i50.12048.

This work is the result of research at the Doctorate level in Education, which aims to outline possible dialogues between the thinking of José Carlos Mariátegui (1895-1930), a Peruvian intellectual, and indigenous struggles in contemporary Brazil, in order to contribute to the elaboration of a historical project and a decolonizing and anti-capitalist Latin American thought, based on the reality where our feet step. Faced with the context of genocide and epistemicide of indigenous peoples in Brazil, we seek to present indigenous resistance in defense of their territories as political and pedagogical movements, counter-hegemonic to capitalist-colonial violence, also stating, with Mariátegui, that indigenous hope is profoundly revolutionary.

Palavras-chave : José Carlos Mariátegui; indian people; latin american thought.
