Abstract

The loss of western tradition and its end with the theories of Kierkegaard, Nietzsche and Marx that was diagnosed by Hannah Arendt is recognized and commented by most comentators. In this essay we would like to asking what it is this loss of tradition and, most important: what remains of this tradition or what is needed to remains? Why we need to keep from her? Is it possible to imagine a new fundation of a new tradition? To answer these questions is necessary to investigate wich is the role of tradition for Arendt. In this sense there are some aspects in the Karl Jaspers work wich influenced the Arendts conception on tradition and they will be investigated. After we will inquire what means the expression denken ohne Geländer and how it contribues to think a kind of refundation or rebirth of the tradition.
